My Birth Story

I was scheduled to be induce June 16, 2012 and I couldn't wait. It seemed like time was crawling by and I was wanting my baby here ASAP. The 15th came and Bryce and I had a BBQ at our house that night as a party before the baby came. I wasn't feeling super great that night and decided to head to bed early and knowing I was being induced the next day, I wanted to feel well rested  so I took my usual unisom and tylonel and crawled into bed. That morning, at 3:30, I woke up with contractions. I got really excited because I really had wanted to go into labor on my own. But of course, my contractions lessened and somewhat stopped at 9 that morning, which was when the hospital called us to come in, luckily :) We got checked into the hospital and the induction began. I was hooked up to monitors, given an IV and made comfy in my bed. My Doctor came in and gave me cervidil and I was hoping I'd begin to have contractions again. I did and was given another dose of cervidil at 3ish and they began to come on more. At 5:30 PM my Doctor came in and checked me and I was of course just dilated to a 3. He then broke my water and told me I could get my epidural at anytime. I totally wanted it right away and the anesthesiologist came in not much later and gave me my epi. Thank goodness too because my contractions were becoming terrible. They were so painful that it was all I could do to breathe through each one. When my epidural set in, life was freakin good. But, at 7:00 PM my contractions were becoming inadequate and so I was put on pitocin. And soon after that, I got some sleep. I was so exhausted! I slowly dilated to a 6 by 1:00 AM and we thought that I wouldn't get to start pushing until around 6ish. Surprisingly, I progressed to a 10 by 4:00 AM and I was able to start pushing at 4:45 AM. I then only pushed for 45 minutes and Yasmynn was born at 5:29 AM. It was such an easy labor. Really, I thought it was going to be so much worse but it wasn't. Our beautiful girl is such a joy to us! She is such a good infant. She sleeps all the time it seems like :) We love her so much!

Baby?

The due date has come and still no baby. But I am scheduled to be induced on June 16. Hopefully she'll come before then which would be nice. So everyone keep your fingers crossed :)

May

One month has come and gone. Where is time going? Well I had a wonderful Mother's day. Bryce and I went up to Kolob and we went on a walk! Then we went to my Grandma's for dinner and my Mother-in-laws after to hang out.

 Posing by the car!
Bryce and I also celebrated our first year anniversary! I can't believe we've been married for a year! We didn't really do anything special mainly because we went to California in March for our anniversary. Bryce did get me a really cool gift though. He gave me a Cuisineart ice cream, yogurt and sorbet maker.

Today I finally was able to use it and I made some delicious Chocolate Amaretto ice cream :) the thing I love about this ice cream maker is it has a place where you pour the ice cream mixture into, which is also very convenient for sampling. Mmmmm mmmm mmm. So I decided to put down the recipe below in case anyone wants to make it :) I got the recipe from foodnetwork.com I didn't come up with it on my own haha.

March/April A much needed update!!

It's been an eventful couple months as of late. Yasmynn is kicking like crazy and growing strong. We did get a little preterm labor scare at the beginning of March but, it just turned out to be a bladder infection (not surprised there). But other then that...all is well. Bryce and I went to California March 30- April 4. It was so fun! Since the baby will be coming around the time of our anniversary, we decided to take this time to celebrate, as well as take a babymoon, because who knows when we'll be able to go on a trip again
.
The disgusting looking sea urchin Bryce ate.

 Feeding the seagulls Cheetos :)
Teasing the seagulls on the Redondo Beach Pier, because we're weird like that.

 The waves were huge!

A day at the beach, I got FRIED! To say the least.

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend a session at the LA Temple :)

As for updates, we have been (well it's more Bryce) trying to get together a garden :) So far it's going good and we can't wait for all the produce we are going to get. We've planted tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, melons, strawberries, carrots, beans, peas, beets, radish's, and like a ton more! It has been so fun to think about how much food we'll have and the plus about it is, how healthy we'll be! We also got a new car. We got a VW Jetta and we looooove it. As for this month in April, I can't believe how fast time has flown!

 My potted plants.
 A belly shot :)
The new car!! Kind of a bad picture though...

Easter was a great holiday that Bryce and I got to spend with both families. We had brunch with my family and I played a special quartet number in my parents ward, then we went up to my lovely sister-in-laws house for dinner and an Easter egg hunt for the entire Schall clan.

David and Alice. Our wonderful friends from Germany!
AND... Another belly shot...So. Sick. Of. Being. Pregnant.

I also had a baby shower last week which was so fun! My lovely sister Heather was in town and so my mom and Heather threw me a wonderful shower. Yasmynn got some darling baby things, which I can't wait to use. It's crazy how much stuff you need for a newborn! It blows my mind on how little time we have left to wait for her to get her. The earliest I could have her is May 18 which blows my mind. I guess I'll have to amp up my walking to get myself dilated haha. Anyway, life is great and we can't wait to have a new addition to our family! I hope that everyone had a fabulous March/April/Easter/Start to spring!

January

Alright, so I know it's been awhile since I last wrote, but there have been many things going on since then. So to sum up, since my last post, we have found out that.... We are having a baby girl! Bryce and I are so thrilled (and I thought just finding out we were pregnant was fun enough). So I now get my own little fashion accessory ;) Anyway, we will be naming her Yazmin Kynne. Bryce came up with the middle, but it kinda flows and he wanted to do the Hispanic spelling (go figure right...I love you honey). But I absolutely love the name spelled with a Y and Z. SO cute right? Well I was thinking about New Year's Resolutions, which is like the big thing for the first week of January. It's more of a to do list for that first week haha. so my New Year's Resolutions for this year will be (in order) :
1. Get a job to help support my family
2. Get through the rest of my pregnancy without complications
3. Have a healthy baby
4. Catch a bigger Large Mouth Bass than Bryce (that's more of a goal than anything haha)
5. Lose the baby weight I gained by October/November
Anyway, feel free to share your New Year's Resolutions with us all

I was also thinking the other day of doing a funny post which will be before this one for all the pregnant ladies :)
I hope you all are having a fun New Year!
